ALER, with the support from the Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP), organised a high-level international conference in Mozambique on October 25 and 26. The objective of the conference was to bring together European and African Renewable Energy businesses, developers and policy makers.
The conference focused on the contribution of renewable energy technologies for the electrification of Mozambique, in line with its National Electrification Strategy under preparation to achieve universal access by 2030.
During the two-day conference in Maputo, participants exchanged information about the investment opportunities in the renewable energy sector, including the on- and off-grid markets. The programme also included the discussion on what is the role of the main institutions to support the development renewable energy projects.
The conference was attended by more than 250 participants, from Mozambique institutions, private sector, financiers, multilaterals and bilaterals institutions engaging in renewable energy support programmes, NGOs and academic institutions. Participants had the chance to meet key stakeholders, have access to first-hand information and find business partners.
