ALER partner of ARE Energy Access Investment Summit 2017 in Lisbon

ALER is one of the partners of the ARE Energy Access Investment Forum, an event which is being organised by the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) with the support of Energias de Portugal (EDP) and the African-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP), taking place on 22-23 March 2017 in Lisbon, Portugal.

The aim of the event is to discuss market conditions, key policy initiatives, business opportunities and showcase financial and technical instruments supporting rural electrification projects in developing and emerging markets.

  • Day 1: ARE Energy Access Investment Summit (22 March, 2017)

With a diverse programme, the Summit aims to deepen participants' understanding of policy and finance trends for existing and upcoming rural electrification business and engagement opportunities in developing and emerging markets. It also helps participants to understand where the opportunities lie and how to take advantage of them.

Finally, with representatives from the international and European public and private sector, high level institutions as well as other key stakeholders for the development of business strategies in the decentralised renewable energy sector, the Summit creates a unique networking opportunity for companies, public institutions and NGOs working in off-grid renewable energy markets.

  • Day 2: B2B Off-grid Matchmaking (23 March, 2017)

ARE in cooperation with the Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP), will organise a B2B Off-grid Matchmaking event, which will bring together key institutional and business decisions makers and representatives to accelerate business growth in off-grid renewable energy markets.

Through structured B2B and B2Finance sessions, participants are offered the chance to meet their next business partner or financier and to advance existing projects at different stages of maturity.

The event will also feature innovative financing instruments presenting their approach and modalities to boost rural electrification projects and tear down remaining barriers.
