Angola presents renewable energy proposals at Expo Astana 2017 Future Energy

Angola is represented at the Astana EXPO 2017 Future Energy and will present renewable energies and energy efficiency proposals. This event will be held in Astana, capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan and will be open to the public from 10 June to 10 September 2017.

Expo 2017 is being organized under the theme "Energy of the Future",  which divides into three sub-themes, allowing a presentation and reflection on the state of energy today and thus creating a global debate among countries, NGOs, companies and Civil society on the crucial issue of "how to ensure safe and sustainable access to energy for all while reducing CO2 emissions?".

Angola has chosen “Energy for All” as its sub-theme and will present clean and renewable energies, distribution and energy efficiency proposals during the event.

The thematic expansion of the Pavilion of Angola will concentrate on the two key issues:

  • Energy in fighting poverty;
  • Access to clean energy as a method of catalyzing economic development.

In this respect, the Pavilion will be structured with account of the both theses and invoke the latest projects and policy suggested by the Government of Angola including the National Energy Plan.

The Angolan pavilion commissioner at the world exhibition, Albina Assis, stressed that the presence of the country in the event will show the commitment of the Executive in improving the quantity and quality of energy.

The members of the Angolan delegation will also interact with delegations from the most technologically advanced countries in the energy field, as a way to gather experiences in the face of new challenges.

The Angolan Interministerial Commission for Astana EXPO 2017 presented on the June 3 in Luanda, the Angolan pavilion model for the international event.
