GET FiT Programme in Mozambique achieves another important milestone!

The Ministry of Economy and Finance of Mozambique and KfW signed, on the 4th of September, a Grant Financial Agreement of EUR 25 million. The aim is to facilitate market access for private investors seeking to become involved in electricity generation from renewable energy sources, through the Mozambique GET FiT programme.

The Mozambique GET FiT programme will promote investments in photovoltaic systems including battery storage (Solar PV + Storage) of up to a total of 32 MW, on the first out of three planned reverse auction rounds.

The Mozambique GET FiT programme implementation is planned to initiate in the second quarter of 2020, with the establishment of the Programme Executing Agency  at MIREME. For that purpose, the tender process to recruit the Implementation Consultant will begin by November and it is expected that the first RE projects bidding process will be launched in 2021.
