Official launch of the “Strengthening the regional positioning of CERMI” project

An agreement was signed between the European Union (the funding entity) and LuxDev (implementing agency) to implement the Strengthening the regional positioning of Center for Renewable Energy and Industrial maintenance of Cabo Verde (CERMI)” project - CVE/881.

This project is part of the Action Program entitled "Improvement of the Energy Sector Governance in West Africa (AGoSE-AO)". It is funded by the 11th European Development Fund in the scope of the Regional Indicative Program (RIP) for the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

One of the main activities of this project is to elaborate and execute a training of trainers’ plan in various areas related to the development of renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE) for the ECOWAS region. This includes the creation of respective training modules and undertaking training of trainers from 16 countries of West Africa. The trainings are delivered at CERMI, which is located in Cabo Verde. The second component aims to support the transformation of the CERMI into a Regional Skills Center, given the quality of its infrastructure and its equipment. This activity will also include the search for partnerships with international technical institutions to increase the sustainability of the Center.

The official project implementation budgeted at 2 million euros started on September 01, 2017, and has a 3-year duration.

LuxDev is now recruiting a project manager for the project. For more information please access the following link: https://pra.luxdev.lu/en/recruitment/offer/HR17-CVE881-L-6WU
