Postponed: Renewables in Mozambique 2020 Conference, 23-25 March
As organisers of the Renewables in Mozambique 2020 conference, we have been closely following the global developments of covid-19.
We are primarily concerned with the health of all participants, not only during the event but also during the travels necessary to get there. For this reason, we want to avoid any extra risks and uncomfortable situations due to the imposition of preventive measures such as quarantine periods.
Therefore, the conference organisers, together with its partners, made the decision to postpone the Renewables in Mozambique 2020 conference to a later date in the year.
We apologize for the inconvenience this situation may cause, but we believe it is the most responsible course of action to protect everyone and not to frustrate participant’s expectations. We will take advantage of this postponement to further improve the conference and increase the offer of related services.
ALER (Lusophone Renewable Energy Association) and AMER (Mozambican Renewable Energy Association) in partnership with Solar-Power Europe(SPE) and the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) are organising the "Renewables in Mozambique 2020" Conference in Maputo from 23-25 March, with the support of the European programme GET.invest, the multidonor programme Energising Development (EnDev) and the German programme Green People’s Energy for Africa programmes implemented by GIZ.
The conference aims to raise awareness and provide information about renewable energy investment opportunities in Mozambique for the private sector. With the aim of creating a dynamic and competitive renewable energy market in Mozambique, several debates will be organised around ongoing initiatives from the government and key issues for private sector investments in Mozambique.
The event will run for two and a half days, including half a day for GET.invest B2B matchmaking sessions. Up to 400 participants are foreseen, including the most important energy sector stakeholders such as project developers and businesses working in renewable energy, Mozambican governmental institutions linked with the energy sector (MIREME, ARENE, FUNAE and EDM), financiers and cooperation partners.
Join us at this event which is free of charge. Follow the developments on the conference page and on social media using the hashtag #RESMZ2020
Download here the second edition of ALER's report published in 2017, with the support of RECP, the precursor program of GET.invest. This is the most comprehensive and up-to-date report on the state of renewable energy in Mozambique, which allows an overview of developments in this sector.
