From February 28th to 2 March, ALER will develop a free training course for journalists to provide knowledge and tools for better media coverage on renewable energies in the Portuguese-speaking African countries.
Objectives:
- To deepen knowledge about renewable energies and the context in which they are inserted;
- Understand the main concepts of the sector and master the vocabulary of the area;
- Enable an understanding of the main developments and constraints of the sector;
- Foster critical analysis of journalists when covering these topics;
- Identify challenges and find solutions to the difficulties in the media coverage on renewable energies in the Portuguese-speaking African countries;
- Know the main actors of the sector and their responsibilities;
- Facilitate contacts for requests for additional information, interviews or comments;
- Create a network of journalists in the area.
Format:
- Three-day online training;
- 2 hours daily for a total of six hours;
- Registration is free but compulsory;
- February 28th - general theoretical training;
- March 1st - technical theory training;
- March 2nd - debate with journalists from the Portuguese-speaking African countries and from Portugal.
