This project contributed to the improvement of the infrastructure and activity of the Fishermen's Association and Palaiês on Messias Alves beach, which now has a steady access to energy, promoting better marketing and management of fishing resources, but also new business opportunities and indirect benefits for other economic activities in this fishing community, such as the production of wooden boxes for selling fish, increased production of nets and bait, or the production and sale of ice. A direct benefit is generated for the Palaiês, but there is also a wider contribution to the empowerment of women in this community, through an increase in their income level.
