Sustainable Energy, Entrepreneurship and Startups Workshop

The Sustainable Energy, Entrepreneurship and Startups Workshop (WESUP), was an intensive training program, through the Startup Academy Plan methodology, a tool that offers the entrepreneur a global view of his business model, allowing him to plan, implement and evaluate his project at all stages of development.

On April 26th and 27th, ALER developed, in partnership with the company Territórios Criativos, an intensive training course, in which thirty entrepreneurs from São Tomé and Príncipe, Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau had the opportunity to develop and explore new tools to implement a business idea.

During the two days of training, each participant was able to learn different approaches regarding finances for entrepreneurs, marketing strategies, entrepreneurship and value propositions and, finally, strategies on how to develop a presentation pitch for their businesses.

Of all the entrepreneurs who were selected for this workshop, there were fourteen candidates from the Women Sustainable Energy Program and Representatives from the National Renewable Energy Associations who had the opportunity to participate in this training and explore new strategies to implement their projects.

The Entrepreneurship and Startups Workshop was organized by ALER with the support of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), within the scope of the Project “Strategic Program for the Promotion of Investments in Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency in the Electricity Sector of São Tomé and Príncipe", financed by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
