ALER present at Events in May

During the month of May, ALER has attended the conferences "Think Tank SDG - Sustainable Development Goals" and "The Lusophone strategy for surviving and thriving in the era of low oil prices”.

The UN agency, Global Compact Network Portugal (GCNP), under the Alliance for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Portugal organized a reflection meeting on SDG implementation in Portugal - the SDG Think Tank, which took place on 16, 17 and 18 May 2016 at CIUL (Urban Information Centre of Lisbon).

This meeting aimed at sharing knowledge, experiences, ideas and projects in order to identify potential partnerships in areas of the Sea, Energy, Sustainable Tourism, Sustainable Procurement and Women's Empowerment (WEPs).

ALER participated in energy’ session that took place on 17 May.

The Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) organized an event, on May 20th 2016 in Lisbon, sponsored by ALER's member Vieira de Almeida & Associados (VdA), to take stock of the current state and future strategies of the oil and gas industry in the Lusophone region, under the title “The Lusophone strategy for surviving and thriving in the era of low oil prices”.

The event featured as speakers some of the leading executives and specialists driving the oil and gas industry in Angola, Mozambique, Brazil and Portugal.

ALER found this event very interesting at a time when the drastic slide of oil prices is posing unprecedented challenges to oil companies and governments around the world. New strategies are being devised so that industry players can survive and if possible thrive in the current environment.
