National Association of Environmental Technology Companies of Angola recently created

During ALER's visit to Angola, we had the opportunity to meet with the National Director of Environmental Technologies and Standards from the Ministry of Enviroment of Angola, António Matias, and obtain more information on the recently created National Association of Environmental Technologies' Companies (ANETA).

ANETA was created on January 19, 2016, following the publication in Official Journal, Series III, nr 12 of the same day (only portuguese version available). This is an Angolan non-profit association whose purpose is to promote the development of actions to protect the environment and provide the development of activities to its members in this area.

ANETA’s Founding Committee was vested during the 5th edition of the International Fair of Environmental/Angola in June 2015. According to the National Director of Environmental Technologies and Standards, António Matias, the Founding Committee of ANETA proposed to implement a new dynamic and enhance activities around this sector in Angola, in order to achieve a sustainable development.

The program includes collection, development, exchange and dissemination of knowledge and experience of overall environmental issues, as well as maintaining contacts with public and private entities, both national and foreign.

The State Secretary for Water, Filipe da Silva, and representatives of private companies and environmental organizations, such as Resurb, GBX, the Luanda International Fair (FIL), Ecological Youth of Angola (JEA), Methodist University of Angola (UMA), among others, are part of ANETA’s Founding Committee.

The Association is expected to be proclaimed in the World Environment Day on June 5, 2016, since the United Nations chose Angola to be the host country of the 2016 World Environment Day celebrations.
