General Assembly March 2020

The ALER General Assembly took place on March 31st, with the participation of our Members exclusively online, due to the developments of the Covid-19 outbreak.

The 2019 Activities and Accounts Report was approved and the proposal for a Portuguese-speaking consortium “Energy for Development” was presented, an ALER initiative that aims to create partnerships between our Members.

The 2019 Activities and Accounts Report was unanimously approved, and it demonstrates that 2019 was a year of consolidation, maturing and preparation for the future. Despite not being reflected in the accounts, 2019 was a year of attracting financing contracts, geographic deepening, attracting new associates and structuring the team. Despite the drop in income recorded in 2019, the 2020 Activity Plan and Budget for 2020, approved at the General Assembly on 27th January, projects an increase of income and an inversion to positive results.

Regarding the “Energy for Development - Lusophone Consortium” initiative, it aims to promote the implementation of renewable energy solutions, on-grid and off-grid, in African Portuguese speaking countries through the joint collaboration of our Members.

This ALER initiative intends for its Members to recognize that the union of their strengths, resources, and knowledge, allows a single point of contact that facilitates the development of projects, minimizing risks, reducing costs, and enhancing business opportunities in CPLP countries.
