MICE and FIC organize the 3rd edition of the International Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fair

Driven by the government's strategic vision of encouraging an energy transition, the Cape Verde International Fair (FIC), in partnership with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Energy (MICE) and the Ministry of Finance and Business Development, joined forces for the holding of the III Edition of the International Fair of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, under the topic “For a Green Economy, Cleaner and Efficient Solutions”, between 24 and 26 March, in Praia, Cape Verde.

 

In parallel with the fair, MICE will organize a program of events and workshops, consisting of 4 panels, namely:

 

  1. Energy Transition: Agenda and ambition 2030
  2. “Energy-Water Nexo – An integrated approach to prosperity and climate resilience
  3. The road to electric mobility
  4. Renewable Energies - Projects and Outlook

 

ALER was invited as moderator for panel 2 which will take place on March 24th, and as speaker for panel 3 which will take place on March 25th.

 

In addition to the main panels, there will also be workshops and side-events, and ALER is organizing a side-event on the 24th at 4:30 pm, in which it will present the WSEP project – Women Sustainable Energy Program,, in which 11 Cape Verdean women, and WESUP - Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Energy Start Ups Workshop.

The International Fair of Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency 2022 comes with the aim of boosting the Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency sector, which is one of the strategic axes for the development of a dynamic, competitive, innovative and sustainable economy, allowing the sharing and exchange of knowledge and information between the various players in the sector, as well as boost investments and businesses around renewable energies and energy efficiency.

The focus of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Energy is essentially aimed at promoting renewable energies and energy efficiency, in order to reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels and, consequently, reduce energy costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. stove.
