RELOP publishes Regulation Benchmarking Study 2020

RELOP (Association of Energy Regulators of Portuguese Speaking Countries) published the 2020 Regulation Benchmarking Study: Governance Models and Institutional Relations, which is available for free download here.

As an international association guided by the objective of promoting development, dialogue and exchange of experience in the economic regulation of the energy sector, RELOP promotes the second edition of the regulation benchmarking study.

This study aims to analyze the institutional architecture of the members, as well as their competences, attributions, governance and functioning models, tracing an overview of the regulation of the energy sector in RELOP countries (Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Portugal and São Tomé and Príncipe).

The study portrays the evolution of the twelve regulators members of the Association, since the last studies published in 2009 and 2011, including the expansion of its competences and changes in the functioning of its organs. This edition even incorporates new topics for analysis, including human resources and internal management of entities.

With the ultimate objective of promoting the continuous mutual improvement of the regulatory framework of the entities of RELOP, the preparation of the study had the active participation of all members.
