RISE: Regulatory Indicators for Sustainable Energy

SEforALL and the World Bank Group launched RISE: Regulatory Indicators for Sustainable Energy on February 15th in Washington DC.

RISE provides an overview of progress towards establishing the necessary policy and regulatory frameworks for sustainable energy in 111 countries across the globe.

RISE is more than a report. It’s a toolkit for leaders to meet the energy challenge.

It offers policymakers and investors the most detailed country-level insight yet how level is the playing field for clean, affordable, reliable energy. RISE is an important tool that will help leaders to make smart, no regrets decisions that will close the energy access gap faster, clean the energy mix and aggressively improve energy productivity.

RISE is aimed at helping governments assess if they have a policy and regulatory framework in place to drive progress on sustainable energy and pinpoints where more can be done to attract private investments.

RISE shows us how countries across the world are continuing to move forward with securing a clean energy transition, but there is still a lot of work to do if we’re to achieve SDG #7 - access to clean, affordable energy - by 2030. We look forward to continuing to work with you as we progress towards this goal.

While RISE serves as a global energy policy scorecard, an upcoming, complementary report – the Global Tracking Framework – will track how countries are performing on progress towards SDG #7. The Framework will be released at the Sustainable Energy for All Forum in New York City, from April 3-5, 2017. The Forum is shaping up to be one of the major energy events of the year. Last week we announced some of our speakers and the latest version of the program.

We hope you’re able to join us, and if your invitation has not yet come through, or if you have any questions, please email our Forum team at Forum@SEforALL.org
