The "Briefing: Renewables in Mozambique 2022" is a document that compiles and organises the most relevant and current information of the renewable energy market in Mozambique. The latest edition of the Brief was launched on December 7th, during the "Business Conference - Renewables in Mozambique 2022".

On September 18th, the Energy Regulation Authority (ARENE) released the list of companies shortlisted for the tender to select two energy producers for the development of two solar photovoltaic projects with a capacity of 30 MWac each.

ALER's President, Mayra Pereira, writes in a column for the Mozambican newspaper "Diário Económico" about the importance of energy access in Lusophone African countries, emphasising the need for cooperation and the exchange of knowledge in the energy sector, so that each country can find its own sustainable solutions and achieve the desired energy transition.

Mozambique Carbon Initiatives Lda. (MozCarbon), operates in the clean technology sectors to reduce emission of greenhouse gases and to promote sustainable development in all components: environment, social and economic aspects. Its main areas of operations include Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD+), and the dissemination of clean cooking technologies (Improved charcoal and wood stoves). MozCarbon’s core objective is to develop and implement REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation) projects, A/R (Afforestation / Reforestation) projects, IFM (Improved Forest Management) projects as well as ICS (Improved Cook Stove) projects throughout Mozambique.
Events

The Business Conference – Renewables in Mozambique 2023 (RenMoz 2023) returns to Maputo on November 24, this time following the Mozambique-EU Global Gateway Investment Forum that will take place on 22 and 23 November.

From July 3rd to 7th, ALER developed the Countries' Week: Each day, one country, to present all the information about renewable energies in Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe.
Training

This workshop was promoted by GET. Transform, and aimed to expand stakeholders' knowledge in Mozambique's energy sector regarding decentralised generation.

The Mozambican Renewable Energy Association (AMER) was in Lisbon from March 6th to 10th to participate in a training action developed by ALER, with the support of GET.invest Mozambique.
Exchange

The proposed action will take place from September 25th to 29th and will consist of a technical mission to Mozambique with the aim of promoting the "Exchange of Experiences on Solar Home Systems" and to elaborate a diagnosis on the challenges and barriers to off-grid electrification in the Angolan context.

ALER, in partnership with the Mozambican Renewable Energy Association (AMER), restarted the Working Group, previously organised, to present the new regulations for mini-grids in Mozambique.
