PFAN Road Show in Mozambique

The Private Financing Advisory Network (PFAN) will organize a Road Show in Mozambique to present and disseminate this initiative, which is scheduled for 20th of March 2019.

PFAN is a global network of climate and clean energy financing experts that aims to bridge the gap between entrepreneurs and private sector investors. There are many projects in this area that are economically viable, but what happens in low-income countries is that there is no funding to make them move forward.

Entrepreneurs may lack the connections to find knowledge to look for and contact with the investors; and on the other hand, investors may find difficult to find investment opportunities in markets they are not familiar with.

To address these problems, the main objectives of PFAN are

• To mobilize investment into promising clean energy and climate change projects and bridging gaps between investors and entrepreneurs and developers of clean energy and climate change projects;

• To reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate climate change;

• To help facilitate the transition to a low-carbon economy by increasing and mainstreaming private sector financing opportunities for promising clean energy and climate change projects.

PFAN achieves this by originating technically and commercially viable clean energy and climate change projects, nurturing their development through coaching provided by networks of in-country financing advisors and technical experts and then facilitating investment through its global investor network.

Initiated by the UNFCCC and the Climate Technology Initiative (CTI) in 2006, PFAN is hosted jointly by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP).
