Renewable Energies in Sub-Saharan Africa

Sub-Saharan Africa has seen its economy double since 2000. The African continent has substantial renewable energy resources which have been little used, and that could help bridge the expected increase of energy demand by 80% until 2040, according to the International Agency Energy. Coupled with the growing middle class and urbanization increasing in the continent, these are the main indicators that Africa has a huge potential where you can invest in this sector.

Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP)

The RECP - Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme is a program with several international donors, which supports the development of renewable energy in African markets.
The main objectives of RECP are:

- Advice on energy policies;
- Cooperation with the private sector;
- Support the development of projects for access to finance;
- Identification of business opportunities and potential European and African partners.

This workshop aims to present RECP and address how companies can benefit from this program, in addition to publicize a number of practical examples of business cooperation agreements.

ALER will be one of the partners of the event and will participate with a presentation on "RENEWABLE ENERGY IN PALOP AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR EUROPEAN COMPANIES."
