ALER participated on the 3rd edition of FIEREE - International Fair of Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency that took place from March 24th to 26th, at Cidade da Praia in Cape Verde.

On the first day of the event, ALER had the opportunity to organize a side event where it was presented the Women Sustainable Energy Program (PESM), a training, capacity building and empowerment program for candidates from Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe and Guinea -Bissau, with the aim of supporting the creation of projects and business models in renewable energies. Among the 22 participants of the Program, we had the presence of seven Cape Verdean participants, which were: Laura Reis, Ariana Andrade, Alécia Monteiro , Simone Duarte, Ana Furtado, Eunice Landim and Sónia Veiga.

The candidates were able to present their different projects and share their experience as participants in this program. It was also an opportunity for them to strengthen their networking and collaboration bonds among themselves and with different entities present at FIEREE. Discover the projects presented here.

In addition to promoting this program, ALER also announced the WESUP – Sustainable Energy Entrepreneurship and Startups Workshop, which will take place on April 26th and 27th. This online workshop is an opportunity for companies and individuals in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sector to acquire training and entrepreneurship tools to plan, implement and evaluate their ideas and projects, existing or under development.

In addition, ALER was invited to participate, on the 25th, as moderator in the Workshop “Nexo Energia-Água”, an integrated approach to prosperity and climate resilience, where were presented the results obtained from the implementation of sustainable energy projects. At Nexo Energy-Water, it was also discussed the impacts, applicability and potential of this concept.

Also on this second day at FIEREE, ALER participated as a speaker at the Workshop on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency – Projects and Perspectives, where it was presented an overview of Cape Verde's positioning and progress, in comparison to the other Portuguese-speaking countries, and highlighted some projects and initiatives that could contribute to a fairer and more equitable energy transition in Cape Verde.

The 3rd Edition of the International Fair of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency took place from March 24th to 26th, as a result of a partnership between the International Fair of Cape Verde (FIC) with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Energy (MICE) and the Ministry of Finance and Business Development.
